Have you ever seen people post things like, "I just won a free cruise playing Bingo" or "I just called in and won free concert tickets" and gone... WHAT THE???!?!
I want to win something. I'm desperate to win something. And not something dumb like a free small fry playing McDonald's monopoly or something. I want to win something BIG. Like a free trip somewhere, or a free house. That whole dreamhouse giveaway was such a great dream. The problem was, I actually saw myself winnning it. I thought about the HGTV people actually ringing my doorbell and what would happen. In my head, it looked dreamy and wonderful. Here is what would have ACTUALLY happened:
I would have opened the door angry because the doorbell would have woken up my sleeping baby. I wouldn't have showered and, let's face it, would most likely be in a bathrobe because I didn't have time to put pants on. So there I would be, no makeup, covered in peanut butter, frazzled and wearing a pink bathrobe with 4 cameras shoved in my face and a set of keys handed to me. I would have been a hot mess. But, at least I would have won something.
Okay so maybe I could win something that DOESN'T require all of america to see me in my pajamas? I'd be okay with that. I wouldn't even care if I just won "random blog of the year" award (as long as it came with a gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse).

If it makes you feel any better, a large fraction of those posts that start with "I just won..." are spam messages generated from people's hacked accounts, trying to get you to click on a website so that yours too can get phished. But I know that's not your point.

ok... that is cheesy I know! There is a website called nomorerack.com and their facebook page is always having giveaways. And they aren't spam... I know because I actually have ordered merchandise from them AND got their free items in the mail. The giveaways require you to promote their fb page and get friends to "like" or sign up... but it is pretty easy. Last weekend if you got five friends simply to "like" their page and write your name on their wall, you won a pair of earnings. It was simple enough and the five friends I refereed were family. It took me all of 2 minutes. Check it out :) It is nice to win something, even if it a little pair of earnings!
You're so cute!! Don't worry... those trips to anywhere in the world aren't as good as they sound... I won one actually... I was soooo excited. We were at a yearly charity event that we go to and you buy raffle tickets and put them into various prize boxes... it's held at the Disneyland Hotel and seriously in their hugest ballroom... there are tons of people and pretty much you have zero chances of winning. I won the trip to 'anywhere' in the world. The catch... there was no airfare ... so that really quickly narrowed down the places we could actually afford to travel to.... it was a 7 night stay at a certain type of hotel... so really you could only go where they had the hotels, not 'anywhere in the world' ... and to top it off... there were SOOOO many places that were already booked up and they were taken out of the running. It expired in less than a year... and needless to say, we didn't even get to use it... we couldn't even go somewhere in the states... all the places we were interested in going were already booked up. I feel stupid for letting it expire, but it would have cost us so much mroe money to use it, it just wasn't worth it. I hope if/when you win something big you have a way different experience that I did!! Hugs.
