My mother did not come to see Noah's birth, but she sent me my Grandmother who pretty much saved my life these past few weeks. She arrived, as the Lord would have it, the day Noah was born, all the way from the peach state. While I was still in the hospital she took such excellent care of Eli for me. Her and Eli have a special bond that I don't think I will ever totally understand but I am so glad they love eachother so much.
During the last 2 weeks she has cooked and cleaned and changed dirty diapers and been more of a help to me than I think she will ever know. At age 79, most people barely have enough energy to take care of themselves, let alone others. But she ran circles around me with her energy and I was so grateful for all the little projects she did for me on the side.
Last Thursday she flew away and it was so hard to say goodbye to her. Her love for the Lord has always been a shining example to me in my life. Her faithful prayers for me and my family have helped me through some tough times. She is my hero. And I hope one day to be half the woman of God she is.
