JOURNEY INTO CHEFDOM

This is a picture depicting my journey into babyfood making. Now I am sure for most of you moms, this is not a foreign concept. In fact, you probably already do it.
But for me, it was a journey into the unknown, and I felt the overwhelming need to document it.

I am not really a hippy-mom. I didn't use cloth diapers, or shield my child's eyes from the "evils" of baby Einstein. I mostly have tried conventional methods. But when I was buying $10 worth of babyfood for 2 days, I realized that something had to give. So, I put on my old Starbucks apron (yeah, being a barista has it's perks- no pun intended) and got to work.

I spent 5 hours baking, peeling, chopping, measuring and mashing until I found a method that worked for me. And, in the end, I had come up with a system that incorporated all natural and non-processed foods at $4 for 5 days worth of food. I have to say, though nobody else will be as excited about this as I am- I felt proud!

One small step into the "natural" child rearing method, and I feel really great about my decision. And the finished product was, as you can see, well received.

Yay! Congrats on the foodmaking! It's not so hard once you get the hang of it. It just takes time. It's important to keep some jars of food for emergencies, though!--Tracy

You're SO right, I AM into making my own baby food! I just make it and freeze it for that fateful day when I actually will have a baby. Ok, I'm a liar. But I'm sure you knew that by now!
