Mom reflections

A friend of mine posted a video on facebook today about being a mother. It was an interesting premise: What would you tell yourself before you had your first child? There are so many things.

I'm pretty sure I would say most of what these moms did. But the biggest, most surprising one I think would be "You will miss your mom". I really do.

What would YOU tell yourself?

Great video, Erin. I enjoyed watching it. Lots of great advice for soon-to-be first time mothers. Many of them are good for fathers, too :-)

I'm not sure what one piece of advice/wisdom I would impart to myself it were possible, but I think it might be something along the lines of making sure you regard every second with your kids as precious, because it passes so quickly. Don't believe me? Let's get together in 25 years and see what you think :-)

Of course, it would be best if all one's parental wisdom could be passed on (I guess that would be back) to yourself. Makes me wonder if maybe having kids is like any other first time project. You know, do it, then do it all over again except the right way. Perhaps it's akin to a "life" mulligan.
