Actual Erin Thoughts: September 2nd

*Everytime September rolls around I think of the song "Wake me up, when September ends" then I think of Green Day and I wish they made more power ballads. Would that be a sell out? I'm not totally sure, but it would at least sound good.

*Why is it that when you get a good haircut your hair always grows so fast, and when you HATE your haircut , it always takes forever to grow out again?

*I liked the name of Brad Paisley's first son which was after Huck Finn, but then he had to go and name his second son Jasper. What is that about?

* A pet peve of mine is when people say "Workman's Comp" it's actually pronounced "Worker's Comp". I don't know why that bothers me.

*I miss slap bracelets, I prefer the kind of jewelry you can throw on.

*In the past 3 years, I have gone through 4 wallets and.... I just lost mine again.

*I like to eat little kid cereal... sometimes it makes me feel immature.

*I really want to get my nose pierced but Tim hates nose piercings. Do I dare get it done on the sly? I feel like a teenager debating on getting tattoo I can hide from my parents.

* Why have all Twilight fans turned into teams? Team Jacob or team Edward....pick a side. There is no question.... team Edward.

*I have no idea when my husband mentions that I don't cook much why I get so offended. I don't cook often, why does that bother me? I think it's because somehow I feel like I am a failure as a woman.

* I miss having a piano around. Sometimes I will play air piano without even knowing it until halfway through a song when someone is staring at me...

*Otter pops are the best thing ever and I am bummed it's September because stores will stop selling them now.

A few random responses:

Power ballads rock, so to speak. I'm a big fan of Green Day.

Don't have to worry about the "bad" haircut. If anything, for me it would be "bad" hairs cut, which is much easier to recover from than when you actually have lots of hairs badly cut.

Jasper goes with Wyoming, not Paisley.

Obviously, Erin, you need to get a GPS locator for your wallet.

If by "little kid cereal" you mean cereals like Cap'n Crunch et al, I'm with you on that one.

Hey, actually, I think nose piercings can be quite cute, if done tastefully. Sporting a one carat rock on your nose is tasteless (and I've seen some pretty ugly ones), but those petite diamond studs are very nice. Tim - if you read this, I'm in now way encouraging Erin to get her nose pierced :-)

Yeah, I'm a member of a Twilight team. Team Neither.

On the subject of cooking ... that's funny. I think a lot of us folks get bothered when we feel like we don't necessarily live up to the stereotype for our gender in some way. For example, I'm one of those guys who likes to go out and burn stuff up on a grill, yet it seems like every other guy is. So, when the subject comes up, I feel, well, maybe not offended but inadequate. It's like I failed a portion of "man" school.

I agree with the Otter Pops sentiment, though I like to think back to my younger days when it wasn't Otter Pops but Kool Pops. Mmmm ... same thing, though.

Jeez. I guess I typed too fast. I noticed two errors. First, concerning piercings, that "now" is supposed to be "no".

Second, when talking about bbq'ing, I meant to say that "I'm *not* one of those guys who likes to go out and burn stuff up on a grill ..."
