A thanks to truly give on a day you give thanks

It's the end of Thanksgiving day, wrapping up the turkey, vaccuming the remainder of dinner off the floor, you know the usual.

Around my dinner table today were a lot of faces, some old, some new. As we were finishing dinner I asked if people would go around the table and say something they were thankful for. Everyone laughed at me and dismissed my comment. So, I have decided to save what was to be my big "Thanksgiving speech" for my blog, where people who actually care what I have to say would read it.

So here it is:

I'm thankful for the man in my life who followed God's call and packed all his belongings, put his life in a suitcase and drove 3000 miles to an unfamiliar, foreign place. He sacrificed all that he knew to come here and make a new life, for us. It's not easy living here. Everyday it's a struggle. Everyday I have to find a reason to get out of bed. Upon going on this "adventure" and being so alone, I have found a travel-buddy, a lifelong friend, a person to wake up next to. I have found a way to get out of bed each morning, we do it together. So today, on a day where I am surrounded by family, the real family that I am thankful for is my best friend. And that's what I am thankful for.

So the real question to you is: What are YOU thankful for?
