MO' MONEY MO' PROBLEMS

I know that Biggie smalls said Mo money Mo problems, and I totally agree with him. But I would also like to add : No Money, Mo problems.

I HATE money. I hate that it consumes our lives and our world. I hate that it is the deciding factor on whether I fight with my husband or cuddle with him; if I eat spaghetti for the 3rd time this week, or if I cook something yummy.

I hate that sometimes I have to choose between fixing up my car or going on a much-needed vacation; between buying diapers or buying toilet paper.

Mostly I just hate the way it affects WHO I AM. I am an ugly, yucky, human being when I am broke. I am crabby, I complain a lot, I am not a fun person to be around. When I am in this particular state, I often think of Jonah.

Jonah is perhaps my favorite life-lesson bible character. Mostly because the things he struggles with are things I struggle with. And when I am sitting in my living room feeling sorry for myself I think of Jonah, doing the exact same thing.

Does complaining, groaning, yelling, or crying do anything to change the situation? No.
So why do I do it? Because I am spoiled and ungrateful.

Maybe I should take a lesson from Jonah and be thankful for the beautiful shade my God has given me.

I am so with you on this one! I hate money as well. I wish it wasn't such a big thing in life. These are good thoughts, Erin.

Thanks for your thoughts. I found your page doing a JONAH image search for Sunday. Good ideas. May God bless you richly as you rely less on money and more on Him.
