SOUTHERN FRIED GOODNESS

I am not exactly known for my cooking or anything. I mean, I can throw together a meal and all, but I am no Rachel Ray or anything. However, there is one meal that I excel at (though I rarely make). My Grandmother's fried chicken and okra. It is the only meal that make's my husband's eyes light up and he spends the rest of the night gushing over. It so happened to be his birthday on Sunday and he specially requested it.



Now the one bad thing about the west coast is that they have never even HEARD of okra, much less sell it in stores. Which is a bummer, and I have to compromise and make green beans instead. Though I never have to compromise on the mashed potatoes.



I really love my grandmother's recipe because the chicken ISN'T greasy, or too breaded. It makes for a delightful meal that doesn't sit bad in your stomach later. I usually make sweet tea to go with the meal, but Tim wanted pepsi instead.



Anyway, the point of this blog is to display the ONE meal that I truly feel proud of making. And here it is:
