Nine little miracles

Since before Elijah was born, I had planned on scrapbooking his life in detail. But when he was born with radial hyperplasia. I struggled with how to scrapbook it. Many times I went to scrap something, and I would just cry about it. How do I explain that we love those little hands? How do we tell him that he is no different from anybody else? For months I have avoided scrapbooking because I did not know what to say. Yesterday, I finally found a way to express how I felt, and finished the page I had been dreading to do. I felt a sense of closure and accomplishment. I decided to write a poem about it. And here is what it said:

Nine Little Miracles

Nine little miracles
On two tiny hands
Were given to you, our little man.

To hold with, to suck on,
To play with, to grow.
To rub your eyes with,
To grab your big toe.

Nine little miracles
God gave to you,
Who knows what incredible things they will do!

Erin you gave me chills. There is a tear falling down my cheek as I type. That was so beautiful, you are a wonderful mom and the scrapbook page is beautiful. Way to go mama!
